The Alaterre coffee table and matching end table

The Alaterre coffee table and matching end table, which I also purchased, are quality products and a good value. The wood is authentic. The tops and shelves are thick and substantial, finished and well-lacquered. The metal legs and bracing are well built and sturdy offering a functional and good-looking contrast.

Nice table

This table is perfect for a small room or apartment. I have a decent size living room and the table seems pretty small for it. It's VERY heavy. My previous wood with glass table seems much lighter and it was bigger. I read reviews before purchasing and was not surprised by the texture, feels somewhat like you'd expect a coaster to feel. I want something that I don't need to worry about spills on so I did a couple coats of polyurethane before putting together and it was perfect. I think I'll probably end up passing it down to my son when he gets an apartment.

Assembly was more difficult than expected

Overall we are quite satisfied with the piece now that it's together. With that said, assembly was more of a hassle than expected. One of the metal legs was covered in a white powdery substance. Mildew I assume. And the holes that the bolts go into to secure the legs to the table tops were way to large, almost the size of the bolt heads. I had to fuss with this to insure that the table was perfectly square and evenly proportioned once it was assembled. Without some patience and a tape measure this thing could be built rather crooked. As mentioned, now that the tedium is behind us, we're happy with the product.

Heavy and sturdy

This coffee table is perfect if you’re looking for a rustic looking and heavy coffee table. It’s solid wood (mins the metal legs). Very easy and quick to put together. I will say that they didn’t allow it to air out after it was stained because the smell of stain was very strong when opening the box. It disappeared after a couple days.
