Thin base layer

If you are looking for a base layer that's going to provide a lot of warmth then keep looking. My son wears these under his soccer uniform because they're thin, have a lot of stretch, and don't make him sweat. They're great outdoors for his games in the spring and fall and provide enough warmth for his indoor winter games. He was originally planning on wearing them for skiing but they aren't thick enough.

Rayon, not polyester; Thin; Measurements for Medium; Care instructions

The Amazon description currently says these are 100% polyester, but the label inside and attached tag outside say they're 95% rayon, 5% Spandex. Rayon is a fabric derived from cellulose by a chemical treatment. It's softer than but doesn't hold up as well as polyester. The fabric is the thickness of typical boxers, not especially warm, but OK as a base layer. The waist on the size Medium I received measures 29-1/2" inside and stretches out past 36", though that's getting tight. It fits the usual medium waist of 32-34" well. These are longer than most of my other mediums by a inch or two, so at 5'10" these bunch up some at my ankles, which I don't like, since I put my socks over them. But tall people will be well served. They're close-fitting, but since the fabric is thin and very stretchy they aren't compressive, for me at least. The close fit also applies in the crotch a little more than usual, though it's roomy enough. Seams are flat and comfortable. Machine wash cold, only non-chlorine bleach if needed, tumble dry low heat, iron OK. Arctix is a US brand. The thermals are made in China.

Look small, stretch to fit

The Arctix Power Base Layer Bottom is a blend of 95% rayon and 5% spandex. I was wary to toss them in the dryer because they looked a bit small. The waist on the medium measures about 30 inches. But I didn’t notice any shrinking when I did throw them in the dryer. The bottoms have a lot of stretch, but the more they stretch, the more transparent they are. The Blue Night color is a dark blue, but you can see a lot if the bottoms stretch to fit. The bottoms are comfortable and move with you. But they aren’t as warm as other similar styles I have. I wouldn’t wear these for winter sports or working outside because they wouldn’t keep me warm. I’ve washed the bottoms maybe five times and they’re already getting that worn, fuzzy look, even though I wash most of my clothing on gentle.

not as warm as other thermal underwear, good for aerobic sports

These are are advertised as "Insulating and wind resistant material keeps the heat in and the cold out". I think the insulation and wind resistance is poorer than most other synthetic thermal underwear on the market. However, these are good as wicking underwear for aerobic sports in mild-to-cool weather, especially when worn under a uniform or other gear. They have lots of stretch to minimize binding. Size medium fits as expected, though they do not have significant compression like the name brand sports underwear.

Keep you...cool?

The quality seems great, but they seem to almost keep you cooler than warmer, especially when there is wind (I was wearing them under my jeans). Indoors they do a good job at keeping you warm, but if you plan on wearing them outside I felt like they did more harm than good, which is a bummer because they seem very high quality. Not quite sure how that's possible, but it's definitely how they felt.

cozy and comfortable

These long underwear pants are made of cotton and polyester. The material is thin but not fragile. The seams are sewn well. The pants are constructed well with a opening to allow a male to go to the bathroom without having to take them off. The material is not soft nor is it rough and is stretchy enough to allow for different shapes. The pants are accurate in sizing and should not shrink in the wash. When washing, do not use fabric softener. I like the Arctix brand in general. I have had long underwear such as these in the past and they wear well and are warm in our winters. I would recommend these to anyone that shovels snowy driveways.

Great base layer!

Really nice base layer! Good materials, comfy, light stretch, quality sewn. I ordered my true size and the fit was good. A little loose around the waist but not fall down loose, just a decent fit. Length was pretty long, I don't mind it. I'm 5'9" and wear a 30L and these might be a 36-38L??? But they bunch up nicely at the ankle and don't feel too baggy. A good happy medium for short and tall people.

I was looking for something like this for a while. I got an L size, next one I'll get a M for better fit
