Bosch rebar cutter review

I needed this for a project that my son was working on. The contractor who poured the concrete had some rebar installed about 4-5 inches below the surface of the concrete, we used a magnet on a stick to verify that it was a rebar. This made placing the anchors too close to the surface so when I looked for something to remedy this problem, I came across what I believed to be the solution, something that could cut through the rebar so that the anchors could be installed at the required depth of 6 inches. We found only 2 holes out of 15 that had the rebar problem, so when we found our first hole after receiving the new rebar cutter, we followed all the required directions and used a standard, variable speed drill, taking it slow and easy. When I pulled the drill out of the hole, to my surprise, 4 of the 6 cutting teeth on the bit were gone. We placed a magnet down the hole to pull out some of the teeth that broke off. Yes, it did cut through the rebar, but using one cutter for one hole gets to be rather expensive, so we sat it aside and resorted to using a hammer-drill on the other anchor positions that were clear of the rebar. I don't think that I will be ordering another rebar cutter of this design unless I can be assured that it will work without breaking apart.
