Wide enough & waterproof

The front of my foot is wide (4 inches at widest point), but my ankle fits well in a medium shoe. I've been having trouble finding shoes wide enough in my normal 10.5 so decided to order an 11, despite the mixed reviews on the proportions of these. The Columbia Hatanas have is sufficient room in the toe box. The ankle area is a bit overly wide for me, but as long as I tie them tight enough they work fine. If I hadn't already been walking in Hoka Cliftons, I'd likely give these a rave review, but though the soles appear rather similar to the Hoka ones, they don't have the spring that the Hoka's provide. After enough time walking, I become very conscious of the sole feeling stiff & hard, even with a gel insert, although they're better than my other waterproof shoes with true lug soles. I will be using these, however, because they're more stylish that the only water- resistant Hoka option which is the only available in solid black or solid white, besides being more expensive. I imagine I will end up getting the Hokas as well for my 2-mile walks, when I can find them at a reduced price.

Runs small

I usually wear an 8.5 medium. I tried a 9 and a 9 wide (which felt no wider than the medium). Both were tight especially in the toe box. If I went larger the shoes would have been too big/wide in the heel. They seem like nice shoes but not for me.

These fit perfectly.

These shoes are great! They fit perfectly. The other shoes fit just as well. I didn’t buy this shoe only because I liked another style better.
