Perfect for my ST1500SF

This was a perfect replacement for my ST1500SF. Super easy installation that just took a couple of minutes. I used the existing nut that was already on the trimmer, but the nut that came in the package looked the same so I'm guessing it would have worked fine too. I can't comment on durability or longevity, as I've only used it for a few hours but, so far, so good.

I am sure its wonderful - learning the hardway here so you don't have to !! - when you remove the old banged up head look at the bolt. If it has 2 flat sides then this is the one for you- if that bolt sticking out has like a spindly looking multi pointed star near the base you want the 1531( that was mine)- hope that helps !- kept it simple cause Solomon Grundy likes simple

I like it cause you can put the line in and it does come out the other side the other one I have on the weed eater takes a long time to get some more line in cause it doesn’t come out the other side you have to fight with it

It Works!

This was an excellent purchase. I accessed a video on Youtube to see how this trimmer head is properly installed. It was easy to install. I will purchase this product again after several years of abusing the one I just purchased.

Glitches in installation figures and instructions and a model ST1500SF EGO trimmer

EGO Model ST1500SF trimmer. I cannot comment regarding "durability" nor "longevity" of this trimmer head, as it is new. The factory trimmer head lasted for a bit more than four years of weekly use -- and I often tap the head on concrete or brick. From the factory, my trimmer's power unit had a 7/16" (14mm) nut requiring a deep well socket holding the trimmer head on (factory nut is pictured). The instructions for removal of the factory trimmer head provided with the new trimmer head said it should be a 1/2" (13mm) conventional nut. I attempted to put the new trimmer head on my power unit with the factory nut I had removed, but the center drive shaft was about 1/4" too short for the factory nut to catch the threads. EGO frontline technical support tried to be helpful, but were not, at least partially because of the difficulty describing the pictured nut to the technical support person. NOTE: the first response I got was this new trimmer head is not compatible with my trimmer -- this despite the trimmer head package stating it was. The problem turned out to be the exploded diagram tech support accesses for my model of trimmer did not include this trimmer head. I had to show them on the EGO website this trimmer head was one of two offered for my model of trimmer. The solution ended up being the nut I only later found buried inside the lower cover assembly. It was a 1/2" (13mm) conventional nut exactly as pictured in the trimmer head instruction. Bottom line, the problems were: a) the disassembly instructions and picture were not accurate to my model of trimmer in either center nut design nor size; b) no parts list is included with the new trimmer head instructions (or I would have known to look for the new nut), and c) the reassembly instructions do not clearly call out "using the new nut provided" or similar as a clue to look for the nut. New trimmer head was then installed in about 5 minutes, but a couple hours were wasted, IMHO because of incorrect and unclear instructions with the new trimmer head unit and EGO technical support's apparently incomplete information (the blown up diagram that did not include both trimmer head models).

EGO Power+ AH1530 Replacement Rapid Reload Plus Trimmer Head (Clockwise) for EGO grass trimmer

At first I was disappointed that I could not purchase the original head as these head was twice the price but once I received the head and used it I found it to be much superior to the original head. Very happy with all EOG's products.
