Repaired my extension cord perfectly

The plug end of my 12ga extension cord was quite worn out. The jacket was splitting open, exposing the wires, and anything plugged in would just fall out with the slightest tug. This was easy to install in a few minutes, and my extension cord is useful and reliable again.

Works Great!

I bought this after the plug-in on my extension cord melt and nearly caused a fire. The load was within the cord’s rating, so I was surprised. After installing this one, it doesn’t even warm up.

So many shapes and sizes.

OK so its 220V? Does it have to be this different?? Yeah probably, or some jack Wagon would likely kill someone. Anyhow, it is a well-made easy to wire plug, that facilitates the required10GA wire easily, and dose a great job delivering the much-needed load.

Mod Req’d for use with 10 AWG

To use with 10AWG requires a minor modification to allow the wire to go into the wire clamps; take the plate off and Terrill/ream the holes slightly larger. Also, you will need to grind the the clamp collar slightly with a file or a larger drill bit… Overall not a big deal… Good luck trying to actually find something that will fit 10AWG cords without some modifications…

Works fine for 14-12 gauge. Does not work on 10 gauge.

I think this would work fine for 14 and 12 awg extension cords. It does not work with 10 gauge (conductor holes are too small), but 10 gauge for a 15 amp receptacle is the exception rather than the rule.

Poor design and quality

Dont buy... This is not a well thought design out and much harder to install. Do yourself a favor and spring for the levitron better quality and much easier to install.
