Pretty good, especially for the price

I ordered these directly from FGX after Amazon inadvertently sent me the wrong pair (unsurprisingly, Amazon rectified this error with no trouble at all). For the price, they're a perfectly good set of readers that do a really decent job of cutting down on high-energy blue light that's emitted from LCD screens such as computer monitors, smart phones, and tablets. I wanted to wait until I got a really good pair of blue light filtering glasses to compare them. In terms of performance, they're very similar. I can't tell that my more expensive glasses (with Kodak BlueReflect lens coatings) are blocking any more blue light. They could be, but for my uses, I see no difference. These FG's did the job I wanted them to, which was to cut down on my end-of-day eye fatigue (burning, watering, and headaches). For the record, I'm a software engineer who spends 8 hours a day in front of two LCD screens, and way too much time on my iPhone, iPad, or Kindle Fire. There are only three cons: 1. The inside of the lenses is more reflective than I would have liked. When there's a light source off to either side of me, I become very aware of a reflection of my own eyes on the inside of the lenses, which can be distracting. My expensive glasses do this, too, but not as much. 2. The lenses don't offer nearly the clarity of my more expensive pairs, and sometimes things are a little noticeably hazy. You could chalk this up to "No duh - they're $35 glassess" and you'd be right. 3. Like all my FG readers that have nose pads, the nose pads are loose on their stems and rattle around. No big deal, but it irritates me a little bit. All in all, you're hard-pressed to go wrong for the price. They're comfortable readers that work well, and really do a good job of cutting down on blue light and the associated symptoms of exposure to it. I wore them every day at work while I waited for my more expensive, prescription pair to arrive, and they helped me a lot. I have them sitting in a case right next to my monitor for the inevitable day when I will forget my pricier ones. Verdict: If you need readers and you spend any amount of time staring at an LCD screen of any sort, order these.

Love them but becoming difficult to find

I have been using Samson GUN readers for several years and have found no other product that suits my needs as well. They are light-weight, don't fall off my nose when looking down, the metal frames are durable, and the 1.50's work perfectly for my computer work and reading. I am far sighted and it is easy for me to look over the top of them. And they fit in my top pocket nicely. Good form and function. The only issue I have had is the screws on the nose pieces sometimes fall out and are hard to replace. I hope Foster Grant continues to produce them. The last time I ordered a pair from Amazon I was sent something totally different.

Good optics but the frames can be troublesome

Originally I wrote a one-star review considering the spring mechanism broke shortly after receiving them. I do like the optics and appearance, Amazon is exchanging them as they may have been defective from the start, so I will give them another chance. Here's hoping they are better than the first set.

So far, my fav readers

These readers are light, stylish, and pretty well made. They are the only ones I can put up on top of my hear and they stay, won't slip off like others. Focal point for the magnification is fairly uniform until you look out the extreme edges. Great value, and yes, I have purchased another pair for backups.

Initial impression

Just received these glasses today. I have had several pair of Foster Grant readers over the years and they are always quality glasses. These came in a soft Amazon envelope and the readers came in an open package like would hang from a hook display. When I opened the Amazon envelope the package inside was crushed, thankfully the readers were ok. So far the readers seem to be the right magnification and fit good. I will see how they do with the blue blocking for viewing my computer. About Amazon shipment packaging...It is so hit or miss. Some fragile items like these glasses will be in a soft envelope and other items will be small in a big box with hardly any packing material and the box will be crushed. UPS is the worst about smashing packages.

Good quality; good value.

Second pair I've had of this make; first with the anti-glare screen filter - have to confess it was more marketing than use but pleased to find it's effective.
