Blood sweat and tears
First of all, I was very impressed with the packaging of the shipping box. All 4 corners were in styrofoam and the frame was suspended away from any edge. It was well protected from breaking. After that, things got… difficult. On the back, holding the back piece in place are the little metal pieces that you pull up to get the back out and then push down again to secure the picture in place. Most 8x10 frames have 1-2 on each side, this company must have thought, “Go big or go home.” Every 3” is one of those tabs. Awesome, right?! Wrong. Oh so, so wrong. I knew this as soon as I accidentally popped the plexiglass (thank goodness it’s plexiglass and not real glass)) and I had to finagle it between all those dang tabs. Plexiglass is in. Now for the matted picture. This is a professional mat job, not some mass produced items, for a picture. I innocently and naively attempt to put the matted picture in and those little tabs laughed at me. I have limited patience and got my husband, he trimmed off a smidge of this professional mat and we attempted again. Again, the tabs laughed. While I held the picture and backing, he would pull each of the tabs up with the tiniest of screwdrivers, the size you use for eyeglass repair. The frame itself isn’t quite classy, if it was black it would look better. It’s obviously not wood though the cut is something I would love to have a real wood frame made to look like. The hangers are the triangle style and are on the sides of the frame so it’s definitely a sturdy item, anything you put in there will be safe. All in all, now that those 45 minutes of my life are over, I’m happy with how it all turned out. 4 stars because if I didn’t have a second person or crazy strong scissors, I don’t know what I would have done.

Great frame for the money but be wary if you buy multiple
Build quality is very good for the price. I don’t mind the plexiglass front at all. One less thing to worry about shattering in my kids room. I am knocking a star off for the hardware on the back. The hooks are all over the place and if you are trying to hang multiple of these frames level to each other for a picture wall, you have to take into account numerous micro adjustments.

Good for the price
The frame came undamaged and is a simple, warm wood frame. It is lightweight and not super sturdy, but I anticipated that for the price. Either the frame or the 18x24 mat I put it in was slightly off size-wise. The mat was a little too large to put neatly into the frame. I'm not sure if the mat was cut wrong or if the frame was slightly off, but we made it work.
