Good Versatility, but
The AC1040 Mounting Plate provides good versatility for attaching things. I mounted 2 items and have room for more. The "but" has to do with the black 8 piece mounting system. When I tried to get one fully inserted, it shattered. I simply switched to using screws and drilled little holes in the back of the enclosure slightly offset from the attachment holes.

Not well for Switches
I can see the idea, but this did not work well with my new 16 port TP Link switch. 1) As others have mentioned, the velcro is almost too wide to fit through the openings. This may be on purpose to ensure a tight fit, but it makes the "install" relatively difficult. 2) Using two velcro straps to go across the switch width-wise, the straps end up blocking some of the ports. 3) Using one velcro strap to go across the switch length-wise, I was unable to get the strap tight enough to hold the switch in place. 4) Regardless of velcro orientation, I was struggling to find a good area to run the power cord to allow it to plug into the switch. This may work better for other components or people smarter than I am, but I've returned this for now as I could not get it to work for me.

The On-Q shelf you are looking for . . .
Don’t buy the plastic one! This is slim and strong and can hold a lot of different devices. A must if you have an On-Q wall unit.

Bit awkward for freestanding devices
Bought this to organize my at-home OnQ panel with a 16-port switch and AT&T modem. Unfortunately the full width plate doesn't leave enough room on either side for the switch to sit flat, so rather than cut it to size I opted to strap it sitting off angle. The reuseable velcro straps are a nice touch. Ultimately if you have devices big enough to require the full-width plate, you might be better off just running cables into a small rack.

Does what I need, but not perfect
This was exactly what I needed for my structured wiring enclosure. However, I can't give it 5 stars for a couple of reasons. First, the mounting holes lined up perfectly in my 42" Legrand enclosure. The problem was with the mounting pins and grommets included with the kit. They do not provide any stability to the plate and anything mounted on it would cause the entire plate with equipment to sag. I ended up using zip ties at the top to support the weight. Secondly, the plate itself has a useful design for mounting options. However, it can also be a limitation. I could not mount my equipment the way I originally planned. I ended up mounting my firewall in the upper left quadrant and my cable modem in the lower right quadrant just to get all the cabling to work out and line up. Other than those two issues, it's a useful addition that I needed to clean up my enclosure.

Supplied Velcro straps too wide to go through the horizontal loops on the full-width plate
Both the half and full width fit my 2005 OnQ enclosure perfectly. The Velcro supplied with the half width works in both sets and loops, however that supplied with the full width only work well for running vertically. They are too wide to go through the loops to hold an item wrapped around "at the waist". For example, I want my network switch ports to be on the top and run the Velcro horizontally around the body so that it doesn't get in the way of the ports. I had narrower Velcro on hand, but otherwise you'll need to get the scissors out.

Can Fit Leviton Enclosure With Drilling
Two of the four corners didn't line up with Leviton 47605-28N SMC 28-Inch Series Enclosure. Required marking and drilling two 1/4 inch holes in the cabinet. In the photo the two holes on the left line up. The two holes on the right worked after marking and drilling through the cabinet. Look closely you can see two holes in the plastic now patched with caulk. Drilling holes in the mounting plate doesn't work.

A must for structured wiring boxes
Did the job and now my router and switches are tucked in my structured wiring box. Flexible velcro options are great for orientation and weildy devices.
