Several design flaws with this one
The Good: This is a sturdy, high quality puzzle with bright and colorful images. The singer of the Old MacDonald song has a pleasant voice. The Bad: First, it plays the verse when you remove the animal piece, not when you put it back on. That’s backwards to me. The Ugly: Most annoying of all, ***the puzzle doesn’t finish necessarily each verse.*** So if your kid removes the ducks piece, it will start singing “And on that farm he had some ducks . . . “ but if your kid then removes the chickens piece before the ducks song is finished, the puzzle starts the chicken verse “And on that farm he had some chickens . . . .” So what happens when your kid removes all the puzzle pieces rapidly (you know, like anyone would normally do when getting ready to start a nuestro puzzle) is that you hear “And o—And—And—And on th—And—A” (imagine an old CD that fell out of its case and got scratched by the loose change in your center console) until all the pieces are off, and whichever piece was removed last is the only verse you’ll hear completely. Then, remember, it doesn’t play the verses when you solve the puzzle by putting the pieces back on the board. It’s silent then. *rolls eyes* But wait, there’s more! (Ugly): What about when your kid picks up the ducks piece and tries to fit it in the chickens slot? You hear the chickens verse. Or, at least you hear however much of the chickens verse will play before your kid tries to put the ducks into the horse slot or the farmer slot, at which point each of those verses will start but not finish (as soon as a shadow crosses over an empty slot, that slot starts playing, no matter what is already playing). So, what you’re left with is a nightmare cacophony Old MacDonald dj mixing table that confuses and overwhelms kids as they’re trying to find the right slot for each piece. I have already removed the batteries; we’re using this as a regular old puzzle from now on. Do they even test these things with actual kids before mass producing them? One can’t help but wonder….

Toddler favorite
Item was well packaged, the board itself is highly durable and sturdy, all the pieces were still attached upon receiving! The whole thing is shrink wrapped (just like the Melissa and Doug items you get from the store) and the animal sounds are so cute. I had purchased this as a gift for my son's birthday. This was definitely one of his more usable gifts he got this year. My 2 y/o loves it. He's started mimicking the animal sounds and it's such a fun one on one activity for us!

Granddaughter loves this!
My one year-old granddaughter LOVES these puzzles! The little knobs on the pieces are easy for her to grasp, & she loves the fun sounds! Very sturdy construction, too!

Daughter loves it, I have my gripes
Listen, my daughter loves this puzzle, so overall I have to rate it high. She received it as a gift for Christmas and has played with this one particular toy more than any of the others. She loves the music and learning the different animal names in sounds. This is all great but here's what i'm losing hair over. This song doesn't always respond when you want it to. When you pull a piece out, it won't always start singing the song like it is intended to. It will however, begin singing completely unprovoked right as my daughter is 45 minutes into her 2 hour nap that we so struggle to obtain on a daily basis. My advice - always, always, always remember to turn the puzzle in the OFF mode before putting your child down for a nap unless you want the puzzle to go totally rogue and start playing Old MacDonald when no one is asking it to. That is the end of the review as now I have to attend to my baby who has no chance in finishing this afternoon nap like I so desperately hoped.

Perfect for 2 year old
My grandson loved this musical puzzle. He loves the song: Wheels on the bus go round and round. He is also at the right age for peg puzzles. Product is sturdy and good quality.

It requires LIGHT for music to play!!
Initially, I thought ours was failing like many of the recent reviews. To make sure, I READ the instructions on the back first. I know, you would think instructions aren’t necessary for a puzzle. But what I learned is it won't play if there isn’t enough light for it to tell the piece has been removed. I was able to validate that in low light it won’t play. As soon as I turned the light on/up, it would play. Hope this helps others and it did take me awhile to figure out why it playing music 'seemed' random. Now that we know it needs a fair amount of light, so far so good. Only giving it 4 stars as figuring this out was a bit of a pain.

The sound quit working after a couple of days
I bought this for my grandson at christmas. He absolutely loved singing along. It worked the first few days and quit working. He still plays with it but there is no sound.

Sounds arnt working properly
I’ve just put new batteries and it was working. After playing for a under an hour it stopped making sounds. I put another set of new batteries and it didn’t work. After trying again it worked again.. I’ll see if this keeps up, I’ll return it. Other then that when it works, my son loves it!

Great product.
I bought this for my grandson and he loves playing with it. It is durable fun and engaging for him to use is and plays again and again. But more importantly he has learned to identify and also learn each of the animals names and sounds. Wonderful.
