Good tool
I used this to remove 6D nails from a subfloor. Worked pretty good. Occassionally I did need a larger one to get some extra leverage to get the nail all the way out but this was ideal to get it started which minimizing the damage to the floor(as much as that is possible).

This nail puller rocks
I like how small and versatile it is. Ive pulled many nails with it. Some out of quite tight places. Great product.

Paint came off of the business ends within a few minutes of use but it's still nice and sharp after removing over 1k nails
Smaller than the other one we tried (the Exhumer) but gets the tiny tack nails out of our '20s walls with a little less damage. Paint came off of the business ends within a few minutes of use but it's still nice and sharp after removing over 1k nails. Must-have if you have to remove a ton of nails, especially the little cheesecloth tacks. I don't want to know how long it woud've taken us with a hammer - I lost count at 800 and my wife has done about twice as many, and we haven't even started on the ceiling. With a hammer, I was getting about 2/ minute if I was lucky. With this I can do 30 in a minute if I try. Only issue with this smaller one is that it can be a little hard to hit if you're new with a hammer. My wife has smashed her fingers a few dozen times already. The size does make it easier to fit into corners, though, and the small puller is great for small nails that the other tools won't grab. At the end of the day, all of the nail pullers we've tried were such a vast improvement over a hammer or prybar that I'm just giving them all five stars, if you have to pull a ton of nails you could probably buy any one of them and be happy.

Great nail puller for smaller nails
Bought this to remove nails from exterior cedar shingles without marring the surface - worked fabulously well! You can drive the points underneath the nailhead with minimal collateral damage, and if you put a putty knife under the head when you rock it back, get the nail out with hardly any trace of damage. There are several larger sizes which work just as well for larger nails. Very well made, highly recommended!

How have I lived my life without a cats paw?
How have I lived my life without a cats paw? I didn't know about this tool until I saw a window installer that I hired to do some windows just going to town with one. He called it a "cat's paw". It looks like a toy or something but it performs like a boss. Seriously this thing is worth it's weight in gold and anyone who ever has to pull anything out of anything (nails/panels/almost anything) this will do the job. Gets into tight spaces. I have put some hurt on it and it's no worse for wear. I own many conventional pry bars that you see at the big box stores... trust me, buy this! Great for working in tight quarters around electrical.

Made in China, not Japan
I know a nail puller seems unimportant in the overall scheme of hand tools, but as I make my living working with and using them daily, the quality of all my tools matter. I finally broke my old Shark nail puller after 12 yrs of use & bought this replacement, assuming it would be the same quality. It’s not. The old one was made in Japan, this one is made in China. The difference is obvious- the V-slots are far less precise, the finish is cheap, and the whole casting seems primitive. I know their wide-flange nail puller is made in China & I didn’t even bother ordering that as a replacement after reading reviews, but thought this one was still made in Japan so took a chance. Unfortunately. Guess I’ll go with Ice Bear or Makuba, which are still made in Japan but not sold on Amazon. If you just need something to throw in the hardware drawer in the kitchen & use occasionally, it’s probably fine but if you use these a lot & need to count on them when you pull it out of the tool bag, keep looking.

Quite effective, good price, wish it were a bit bigger.
The nail puller does really well when needing to get in to a tight location or deep into a stud. It is quite sharp which is beneficial over larger nail pullers. However, I wish I would have gotten the longer one for my usage - primarily framing. I've built up technique with this one and can yank nails quickly when crews have errors.

Effective, comfortable tool
Used this to help remove 3 layers of floors in a 1920 kitchen. It's an awesome tool - good ergonomics and was great for a variety of nails and staples. It even made it easy to remove nails that had broken off heads. If I did this sort of work more often I would buy a backup in case they ever discontinued it.

Says "chrome vanadium" on the tool. Unsure why...
I'll tentatively give this a 5/5 review. If it breaks I'll change it. Previously using a 15" estwing, it's quite the change. Also I was under the impression this was high quality steel, it has a label of chrome vanadium on the took which would be more prone to breaking as far as I know. Maybe it's a coating? I'm unsure.
