Perfect fit for Leviton outlets

I ordered four of these along with the matching weather-resistant outlets to replace my old outdoor receptacles. These are easy to install and a perfect fit over Leviton outlets. These come with the foam insulation and 4 screws (even though you only need one) for installing. I wondered about the inclusion of 4 installation screws until I proceeded to drop two of the tiny things into a gravel-covered flowerbed and then I understood!

Good quality cover!

I had returned another one because it was flimsy plastic. But this one is very sturdy and made of metal. It does take an extra hand to hold the covers open while screwing it on. One thing I would like to see are covers that will lock open when needed.

The socket door covers do open at a 90-degree angle unlike what I have read in some of the reviews, but had I known it was plastic I never would have ordered it. It is only mounted by one screw which is in the middle between the outlets and is likely the weakest part of the cover. I also had a little bit of difficulty trying to hold the door covers up while screwing in the single mounting screw. I was mounting it to brick and the plastic did not put enough pressure on the foam gaskets to properly seal it from the weather. I had some clear silicone to properly seal it up. Had it not been for that I would have returned it.

Great waterproof cover for exterior electric outlet

Easy to install

The original cover that came with the house broke and I’m pretty sure it was because it was hard to use. The plug is low to the ground and the cover only opens at 90 degrees. It was difficult to use. I installed this cover ‘upside down’ and works perfectly!

Complete kit

Comes with extra screws, water proof foam inserts. Very strong springs. It was a little difficult to hold both spring loaded caps back in order to be able to insert the center screw.
