Great product

I purchased this seat for my husband. He has a really hard time getting up from chairs. I was always having to assist him up and that was a strain on me. It has worked beautifully and is a life saver.

Helps me get up more easily

Recently I developed an arthritic condition in my hip that made standing up from my chair very difficult. This product provides just enough boost to help me stand without struggling. It is not very comfortable to sit in for long periods because the seat cushion isn't very thick. It was easy to adjust for my weight although I did have to set it a little lower than my actual weight because I felt it was pushing up too strongly at first. I'm happy I purchased this.

I returned the item

I think this is well made and a wonderful product, but you have to use it on the right kind of chair. It doesn't work that great on a soft chair, and the heighth of the product was a problem. With the carex seat under him, my husband could not put his feet flat on the floor, which is essential. It was also too narrow and would be very uncomfortable on a larger chair. Best used for a hard dining room or kitchen chair. On those, my husband doesn't need any help.

Elderly people who are light weight may not be able to trigger the seat to lower

It works

I was skeptical at first. It took a day or two to adjust to sitting higher. It is a gentle lift so I never feared being tossed on the floor. Really glad I took a chance. It works.

Less falls for my husband ...

My husband is 6’4” 250 lbs and has limb onset ALS w. little ability to use his arms for support. He uses one setting lighter than his weight and is always sure to sit back on the seat ... and is quite relieved to able to get up on his own using the lift mechanism. The seat is comfortable and we always take it with us when we go out. It’s a tad heavy for me as a caregiver to carry about, but it’s sturdy. I docked one star because the handle could be a little more user friendly, but it’s otherwise well made and does the job.

dont think it made much of a difference UNTIL i forgot to use it. It makes a huge difference. The heavier the user the slightly less the effectiveness but still its the difference in getting up or not. Portable (if you remember to take it with you, and you will regret forgetting it). I am 24st and this is one of the best things I`ve bought. Lost without it.

BEWARE OF VAT ON THIS PRODUCT

THE PRODUCT IS A GREAT AID TO HELP ME STAND AS I HAVE ATHRYTIS IN BOTH MY KNEES AND ANKLES. THE ONLY DISSAPPOINTMENT IS I PAID VAT ON THIS PRODUCT WHICH IN THE UK IS EXEMPT AND THE PROCESS TO CLAIM IT BACK FROM AMAZON IS LABOURIOUS DESPITE THE ASSISTANCE OF AN ABSLUTELY EFFICIENT AND POLITE LADY IN CUSTOMER ENQUIRIES
