Fantastic tool!

This Carson mini-microscope is a wonderful thing. I study crystal formations and gemstones. My daughter and her friend study fungi. My DIL needs to identify skin conditions in cats. My great grandson is fascinated by insects. Everyone loves their mini-scope! The 60-120x is ideal for field work for all of us. The LED is bright enough for use in the dark. I recommend this product for anyone who needs or wants to see tiny things. I will be purchasing more of these for a class on crystal formation and inclusions that I will be teaching soon.

A hit for nature studies

My kids and I enjoyed our test run with these microscopes. We found it hard to focus when zoomed in, but loved checking out things from our nature tray (leaf, feather, rocks, seashells, etc). A whole new world was opened up at a very affordable price. It doesn't come with the lanyard so we will need to find some before hitting the trail. I love that they don't have to share these like we share our binoculars. Will have to order some slides to see how well they work. If that's a success, we plan to order a set for Grandma's classroom. I bet her students would enjoy them, too.

Bought the 4-pack

I’m all about getting the better value, which is why I decided to purchase the 4-pack, which is also why I’m currently broke. However, I would highly recommend these little gadgets for kiddos and adults alike! It takes a little bit of practice to maneuver and focus but once you get the hang of it you’ll be looking at everything under this microscope haha. Great for homeschool, outdoor adventures and totally giftable

They work, just not perfectly.

Purchased a four pack for my grandchildren thinking they would enjoy looking at anything up close and dirty. It does take some getting used to as far as moving left to see right but within moments if not seconds, you'll have it down. Upon receiving them, I installed a battery in each and looked through each just to make sure they all worked the same. They truly do work however, there is a spot dead center of the glass on each of the four that makes the magnified image blurry. The outer parts are clear but the exact center is not regardless of focus adjustments. I'm keeping them but would I buy them again? No, not with that spot in the middle on each. I'd move on to something else if there was other options. Edit: Due to the expedient and unsolicited response of Carson, the manufacturer, providing assistance and willing to replace these, I have taken my rating up to five stars and have decided that YES, I would purchase these again because of it. All too often there is no service after the sale and Carson proves there are companies out there that truly support their customers and want them to be completely satisfied. That in itself deserves a couple stars and therefore I must give credit where credit is due. Don't hesitate in buying these as the price point is very good and if you do have issues, Carson will support you. As for the blurry image, I had the kids and their parents all look through them, 12 different people in total, and no one said anything about that. The only thing mentioned was how amazing they worked and how gross some things looked magnified, lol. I guess I'm wrong. Maybe it's my old eyes and not the Carson MicroBrite afterall. My apologies to Carson.

These are so amazing.

My kids have so much fun with these! Im usually trying to find fun things for them, and then they yell at me for enjoying it too long. :] fun for adults too obviously. Very clear quality. Great zoom.

Instant hit! Kids loved them.

I bought 4 microscopes for grandkids ranging in age from 6 to 10. It was a big hit with all of them! They spent the day looking at patterns in rugs; investigating spots on their skin; looking at parts of plants. They even Took them to camp.

Microscope cool check the price

They got me with their "discount purchasing 4", without realizing the same company charges more in that pack than /item. Annoying I paid $14 extra dollars by purchasing the 4 pack then ordering 4 individual. The microscope is awesome though.

Great little microscope

These little microscopes are pretty great, especially for the price. I bought a 4 pack so that I could give one to each of my nephews and keep one for myself (for outings with my nephews). Pretty powerful for its size, but within reason for the magnification levels listed. Looking at fabric and old wooden tabletops is amazing. It's definitely easier to focus on an item if it's got a flat surface for you to set the microscope on. If the object is rounded or small enough that it fits up into the viewing zone, you won't be able to focus as easy unless you have a REALLY steady hand. I also love the fact that it only takes one battery... and an AA at that.

Worth a closer look...

Works as expected. Kid friendly - Not so expensive as to prevent the kids from using them, but they work well enough to actually be able to see details. Very compact and sturdy; will actually fit into most pockets. LED is bright and fairly evenly illuminates the subject item. Microscope has a fastener to attach a lanyard, but does not actually include the lanyard. Would be nice if a lanyard was included.
