Being a Hair Stylist for over 30 years, I've used my share of hair straighteners. This hair straightener comes nicely packaged, has its own pu leather bag ~ with no strap, and without any instructions. The only information you get about the flat iron is written on the box, much of which is written in different languages. The only paperwork you get inside the box is a warranty card, of which I'm not sure where it goes to. The only accessory you get is a heat proof cover for the end of the straightener to hold the clamps together when finished using. Now, about the hair straightener and my experience when using it. All of the controls are on the inside, which leaves no possibility of an accidental turn off, which is a plus. It gets hot rather quickly and noticeably, by the green lights that are visible on one inner side of the two straight elements, or clamps. They flash as they are heating and turn solid when they have reached the selected temperature. The floating heating plates are beveled on each side, but not on the ends, giving areas for hair to snag between them and the plastic clamps. As far as using the hair straightener, it's rather heavy and when I run it through a section of hair, it does not want to grasp the hair firmly and it often snags some of my hair, especially at the ends. It does straighten quite well, but it's harder to manage than other straighteners I've used before. I usually find it very easy to curl my hair with a hair straightener, but this one is a little too heavy and grabs and snags my hair a little too much to make that an easy task. I do have fine thin wavy hair, so that may make a difference with this hair straightener. Though, this hair straightener is decent quality, it is not the quality that most professionals look for, nor does the quality meet the price tag. For this price tag, I would expect a real leather bag with some sort of strap, extensive directions, negative ion technology, no snagging of the hair, smoother gliding, a little less weight, and a warranty card that actually goes somewhere official and is valid. This is my view about, and how I experienced using this hair straightener several times. I look at hair and nail products through the critical eye of a licensed Cosmetologist, so many things are just nitpicky and they are still good home quality products. This hair straightener claims that it is professional-quality, but it would not hold up to the rigors of all day use for a hair stylist. It will work fine for the home user. I still find it quite expensive for the quality, but what matters most is if you like the quality of something and want it. If you do, buy the product, regardless of what others have to say.
