This is the best weed eater EVER and great value for the price! Let me provide some context. I'm a 56 year old woman, 5'3. I live on a natural heavily wooded lot - no grass, leaves, wild prickly vines, privet, lots of small branches, twigs, very heavy use for my cutter. I struggle mightily with gas powered machines. They are very heavy for me and are next to impossible to start - my arms aren't long enough. I have to put the machine on the ground and stand on a step to be able to pull the cord all the way and have difficulty pulling it properly to get it started. Then, if it dies out in the woods, I have to walk back to a place where I can elevate myself above the machine - a royal pain and after a while, I lose strength to start the blasted thing. Totally exhausting after just a short period of time. I never seem to be able to find a comfortable length and am constantly adjusting as it is just too long. Very fatiguing to say the least. In comparison, the GreenWorks is so amazingly light and of course, being electric, starts at a press of the handle. I have very little fatigue and the adjustment lengths are just perfect for me. No struggling to change handle orientation or open head. I especially like the swivel feature and the hook in the handle to hold the cord. Rather than bump the head to extend the line, you simply turn the unit on, then off, then on again. It's a little tricky, but once you figure it out, is really easy. If the line is caught inside and won't extend, there is a release button on the head that I can actually work. And I can take the head off without a struggle but yet everything is firm and tight and snaps easily back into place. The GreenWorks cuts beautifully with minimal snags, and has increased tremendously my running/cutting time! More time cutting, less time fiddling to get it adjusted or to run. I've learned that it even cuts taller privet by lifting to waist height (which I never would be able to do with a gas powered unit), cutting top to bottom all the way to the ground. The GreenWorks runs consistently and my cutting time has increased so much compared to a gas powered unit. Line snags are minimal, and most of the time are the result of tangles created by me when twining the line. What a workhorse this little trimmer is! It appears to be very well made, was packaged nicely and arrived on time. I can see the possibility that a taller person may find the length uncomfortable as it seems you would have to bend over if it's not long enough for you. But it is the perfect length for me and so easy to adjust the length longer or shorter, depending upon what I'm cutting. I used the unit with (2) of those orange 100 ft extension cords from Home Depot with no trouble. I am so happy with this unit that I actually look forward to cutting. And so easy to get it up and running, I use it more than I ever used my gas powered unit, which was such a hassle. I've had the unit for about a month and used maybe 10 hours so far with no issues at all. I highly recommend this unit, especially for anyone who struggles with gas powered units. Quick, easy, light, so comfortable to use and runs beautifully and extremely affordably priced. It cuts everything I've thrown at it beautifully and consistently. Time will tell how long the unit will last, especially in my harsher environment. I would purchase this unit again and again and am totally sold. I would even go so far as to say that if for some reason it doesn't last, I wouldn't bat an eye in purchasing it a couple of times a summer, since it is so affordable and easy to use - a real workhorse! Did I say how much I love this cutter? :)
