Does its job well

This is plenty big to get that big 32 ounce block on their and slice it up quickly and get back in the fridge. This saves such time later in the week when making lunches! The wood quality is ok, feels like I should oil it to keep it from cracking but I don't know if that would be advised. I also put it out with cheese and crackers at get togethers and then the unused cheese can be stored in fridge until needed, no sweaty slices to toss at the end of the party.

Um!

Wire broke first time we used it. Seems too flimsy to last long. Glad there were replacement wires. I put a new one in and it seems to be working as long as you go very slow and cut the cheese carefully. We are only using this on medium cheddar which is not hard. Not sure how long the wire will hold up. Like the way you can make thin slices. I would return if I wouldn't have to pay shipping fees. I just wish I could find a cheese slicer that really works.

Works great on softer cheese

Works great on soft cheese but can easily break the wire on firm cheese. It is good that it comes with spare wire as I broke a wire on my second use.

NOT SO GOOD FOR FIRM CHEESES

THIS DEVICE DOES NOT WORK WELL WITH A FIRM CHEESE. THE WIRE WILL SNAP. I DO NOT MEAN HARD CHEESE JUST FIRM. OTHER THAN THAT IT IS A GOOD PRODUCT. I SLICE A LOT OF CHEESE IN MY WORK DAVE IN ARIZONA

Wire wears out quickly

I bought this less than two months ago and the wire is already stretched and will not cut all the way through to the wood. I use it to cut 2lb. blocks of cheddar cheese. The wire / handle also feels a little loose, able to be shifted side to side out of the track. I would not buy this again.

Kept breaking wire
