Easy to use

Very good quality for being aluminum. Easy to use and instructions are easy to follow. It comes with a 15 pound weight, which is not specified anywhere except in the manual. Would have liked it to be the 10 pound weight. For those that are a little uneasy about pressure cooking, don't be. Its easy and fun and safe.

Great product that cooks food quickly

I had an old 6 qt. Presto pressure cooker that I inherited from my parents. We use it a lot at our primary house and wanted one for our vacation house, where we have more dinner quests so I ordered a larger one for our vacation house in Corolla, NC. We use it to cook artichokes in about 20 minutes and always feel safe using it. Anyone using one, needs to let all of the steam out before opening it and they will also love using this pressure cooker to cook food quicker.

Great price, and works very well

So far it's worked great. Rack works well and doesn't reduce cooking space hardly at all. Rattler isn't annoyingly loud even watching TV in the next room, unless you have it boiling too hard. Thought I might find it annoying, turns out it's actually a great way to tell if it's working normally without having to get up. Handle wiggles a bit but it hasn't given me any trouble so far. As long as you know this isn't the same as a normal pot, you have to check on it a bit as it comes up to temperature, etc, you'll be happy buying this. One thing is that if, at the end of cooking, you press the emergency release to check for pressure, and there isn't any pressure, and it's wet with water, it just pops off inside. This is no big deal, you just rinse it and put it back in, and I could solve this by not being an idiot, so I can't count that against it.

While I have not used this most recent purchase as yet, I have grown up with this brand and have never heard my mom nor sister say anything that was not positive. I am anticipating the same when I use it. Should I find otherwise I shall post that.

Amazing, highly reccomend

I LOVE this so much!! I've used it for a while now and it never disappoints. No black mess that some others experience. It seems to happen to those who dont use it properly. Make sure you follow the directions carefully, and you're good to go. I've used it for soups, chili, beans and chick peas. I always soak or clean right after use so that I never have to worry about stuff getting stuck in or on anything. I reccomend this to anyone looking for a pressure cooker.

Terrific value

This is a great value. I decided on the Presto after seeing that it cooks at 15lbs pressure and parts are avalable for it at my local homehardware, or online. Getting a new sealing ring can be a problem for PCs that are not as well know. I did look around at PCs locally and saw the aluminum vs stainless steel models. The best overall value seemed to be this model. I've cooked rice in it this afternoon and it turned out great, doing soya beans (for natto) tomorrow. Boiling the beans takes 5 hours, with this PC it should take 30 minutes tops. The 8-quart size is perfect. Means only filling to the 1/2 way make won't be as much of a problem. With free SS-shipping I bought it Wed night and received it Friday morning! Instant gratification! Yes, I need to get out more.
