Just one disappointment

Really good quality unit…with glass shade, not plastic. Only one negative, that is the awful rotating switch, which is difficult to use , and need two hands as you have to hold the stem whilst rotating, and I suspect may break.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS LAMP

Geez, I'm speechless. This is the 2nd lamp we have ordered this week. The first one arrived and the stand looked stylish and substantial enough. But after screwing in all the sections of the stand, we discovered that the shippers had neglected to include the glass shade. So we took it all apart and spent a half hour trying to replace all the parts into the styrofoam packaging so that we could send it back. Mistakes happen. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered a replacement lamp just like it. Today, I'm fuming. The 2nd lamp arrived. I could tell as soon as we cut the tape on the outer box, that this lamp was a previous return. The styrofoam had chips broken out of the top where someone had opened it before and retaped it all back up. The first thing we checked was the shade. Yaay. It was there and unbroken. So we unpacked the all the pieces and started screwing the sections together. On the second section, it was obvious that the pieces didn't line up straight. (See the attached photo) The threaded part was cross threaded onto the pole and was so forced into place, that there was no way to ever unscrew it and straighten it out. I know for certain that that was the reason that the lamp had been returned the first time. And instead of fixing the lamp, or tossing it out, the shippers put in back into inventory and sent it out to the next sucker. So, again, we wasted another half hour repacking the lamp to send it back. And to add insult to injury, I paid $49.99 each for the 2 defective lamps. But even if I had wanted to take the chance on this inept seller and order a 3rd lamp, they have increased the price to $75.00. What JERKS. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

Nice lamp, wrong finish

They sent the brushed brass instead of brushed silver. ???? The sections that screw together are discolored slightly so it isn't as streamline. Great opaque glass shade.

Construction is solid but beware the actual color. It looks more brass. If you want a brass lamp then this lamp is solid.

Great lamp!

This is a nice lamp for the money. I bought it for my office at work, to offset the glare from the overhead lights. Its very tall which is what I wanted, and casts a nice light. The quality is outstanding for the price you pay.

Nice lamp

I gave this lamp 5 stars because it is a attractive, sturdy lamp. Very heavy. Easy to assemble..but..it was not the lamp for me. Very tall, and I have shoulder problems, and could not reach the light switch! Be aware of the height when ordering..something I didn't pay attention to and didn't even think about. We stopped putting it together, and it will either go to a friend, or the neighborhood thrift store.

Works fine, exactly what I needed

I needed a replacement for a 30 year old halogen lamp that was a similar size and shape. This lamp is a good replacement. I was able to put a 100-watt equivalent (13 watt usage) CFU Reveal bulb in it, and it lights up my work area well. It looks fine. The base is heavy. It's a quality item.
