Great boonie hat!

Been wanting a boonie with hook and loop panels for a long time now. The boonie hats Ive owned up until now were old school. I also like the adjustability. I wasn’t sure about the map pocket at first as this is really just a summer hat for around the yard and running around. Then I realized it’s perfect for holding an extra bandanna. And you never know when that will come in handy! I’ll probably get another in coyote, But what I really hope is that they will make one in Grey!

So I purchased the khaki colored one… then I purchased the black one and then I got the green one lol it literally fits so well I love the fact tht it’s not a giant brim! Wish it was this exact style but in blue camo! Coachella ready lol

Great Design and Fit/Quality Material

I have worn various boonie hats throughout my career, but TRU SPEC’s Boonie hat is by far the best all around that I have owned. The hat provides the wearer adjustment options which make the fit even better. The sprig loaded adjustment slides allow you to adjust the hat around your head or the chin adjustment allows one to securely set the adjustment lanyard around the chin and the hat remain there or the hat can be set to a more snug fit around the wearer’s head. Finally, the two pile points on the front and back of the hat allow for the attachment of items such as patches or name tapes. There is even a 1x1 pile point on top of the hat for the attachment of items such as IR or reflective squares.

Works

It's a hat. Guaranteed fit with the draw string and nice circumference of coverage without being in the way. Only drawback is my unit came with, what I assume is, a defective toggle for the chinstrap - no spring and was loose in two pieces in the bag. Nothing I can't live without, just a minor annoyance as I had to rig it up first thing out the bag.

Perfect for a photographer

I'm a photographer and this is perfect for me. I spend a lot of time in the sun and the hat is comfy. When shooting vertically, the brim easily pushes back (whereas with a baseball type hat, one must turn the hat backwards). I wanted something to display my patches and the hook connects well with the loop from my patches. I love it.

Impressive item

I like the fact that the hat is adjustable as I have a large noggin and I find it difficult to find something that will fit me and look decent. It will also adjust to smaller heads and looks great.

only negative is that the adjustable button slid right off and fell into pieces, had to tie a knot at the end of the lanyard to keep it from happening again
