Great Calming Sensory Toy

My son’s BCBA therapist recommended this toy to help my son calm down when he’s upset. It has been the absolute best thing for him. He’s able to calm down much faster squeezing this plush. I recommend this toy to his OT therapist and she has purchased one for her clients as well.

Kids loved the stickers, until they stopped working

This is a wonderful stuffed toy. It is weighted and durable. My kids LOVED it...until the stickers stopped working. They had a LOT of fun with them. But they only moved th around 4 or 5 times and they no longer stuck. The ONLY issue, and why I gave 4 stars, is the "felt" stickers had a sticky on the back and no longer stuck after a few times of moving them around. They are also very flimsy and easily distorted or torn. Felt is supposed to stick to felt. But because of the sticky, the natural clinging ability was gone. No matter, I still like the sequins and playing with the patterns that can be made with them.

Calm Down

I got this little Hedgehog for my 3 year old to use when he's about to have a tantrum. We set up a "calm down corner" with a plush blanket, some of those glitter water bottle things, and this hedgehog. So far, the hedgehog is the favorite. He can squeeze this guy (surprisingly heavy and soft), hug him, scream into his belly, or just focus on the sequins and pet him until he calms down enough to talk. It's not a fool-proof way to get your toddler to chill the eff out. But it does give him the space and the tools he needs to start to self-regulate his emotions. After a few minutes chilling, he's usually able to have a normal conversation (generally still holding the hedgehog) about what happened and why he flipped his lid.

Soothing

Got this for my niece who is a fidgeter. The sequins are great for her because when she needs to calm down she can flip them up and down. The little decals that come with are cute but we’re easily bent and lost so they didn’t really add anything. But it’s a unicorn, so if you have a unicorn lover they’ll probably love this.

Good Quality

I was worried what the fit and finish would be on this, but it turned out to be well made and feels likely to be durable. The sequins have been applied carefully. Sometimes these sequin things are sloppy and they don't flip back and forth smoothly or in unison. These were good quality and worked nicely, even at seams and edges. The hedgehog has a good feel and good weight. The sticker things are sort of a waste, (don't apply or stick very well), but they were good for a chuckle for a little while. Bottom line this turned out to be a happy buy and was received by the little one.

Son loves it

We bought our daughter one of these (unicorn) in a big name craft store and paid almost double the amazon price for it. I saw this one and knew my 5 year old would love it. As a word of warning, it's pretty heavy. My daughter tossed it onto my son's bed while he was on the floor beside the bed; the hedgehog bounced off and busted his lip. He is okay and doesn't hold a grudge against his buddy (whom he named sunflower.) He sleeps with this toy every night, even though the sequins are a little scratchy. It's well made and seems to be high quality.

My daughter named her Snuggles.

I purchased this cute hedgehog as a gift for my 5 year old. It is incredibly soft on the front side. The sequins are not cuddly, as expected. The hedgehog has some weight to it and when you place it on your chest/stomach there is a calming sensation much like when using a weighted blanket. I got this on sale and believe it is well worth the value I paid.

Hole in the sewing

It came with a whole in the back seam that I can shove my finger through. The pain of returning it after we threw out the box yesterday isn't worth it, so I'll just have to sew it myself. Bummer
